Towards Net-Zero for NZ

EQUIP have partnered with Mott MacDonald to bring the Moata Carbon portal to New
Zealand, with the overall aim of improving carbon conversations within councils but
also to provide the ability to monitor and manage embedded carbon in an evergrowing
capital works space.

EQUIP see this as an important first step for councils on their carbon journey and the ability to back up the target reductions with evidence of how designs have been influenced to be more carbon considerate.

Mott MacDonald

Mott MacDonald has been supporting infrastructure clients across the globe with their carbon reduction journey for over 10 years. In 2020 we became the first engineering company in the world to be certified as carbon neutral for our global operations. The independent Carbon Trust certified Mott MacDonald as meeting the international standard for carbon neutrality, PAS 2060. Being certified as carbon neutral is a major milestone for our journey toward net-zero carbon emissions and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

Moata

The Moata platform was developed in Aotearoa New Zealand and is now being used globally in the delivery and operation of infrastructure. Moata hosts a range of solutions to aid the quantification, reduction and reporting of carbon as part of its Net-Zero suite. Our platform approach has brought together public agencies and private
enterprises to accelerate their net-zero journey through a collaborative sharing of information and technology that realizes the true value of carbon data.

Carbon Solutions

Moata Carbon Portal

The Moata carbon portal has been 10 years in the making and addresses the need for infrastructure providers to work together and share information across a web enabled platform. This allows us to learn from each others innovations and continue to build a national & international data base of low carbon solutions to benefit society

Moata Carbon Dashboard

Often those in a position to make the greatest carbon savings are not the same individuals who quantify carbon using the Moata Carbon Portal. How to connect those passionate to understand and address carbon with the key decision makers that can
make the biggest difference? The solution is a Carbon Dashboard to measure, manage and mitigate infrastructure carbon through design innovation, informed decisions and resident engagement. Bringing together the full spectrum of emissions into a simple, visual and intuitive dashboard that anybody can engage.

PAS 2080

The worlds first standard for carbon management in infrastructure, authored by Mott MacDonald. Developed in response to the recommendations in the Infrastructure Carbon Review report about the need for an agreement framework, terminology and standard. PAS 2080 is applicable across the entire value chain for quantifying baselines, monitoring, reporting, quantification of GHG emissions and continual improvement mindset.
